The Punjab government has given the green light to a 40-kilometer green corridor project in Lahore aimed at reducing air pollution and smog in the city.
This corridor will run from Shahdara to Raiwind, converting the land alongside the railway tracks into lush green belts.
The plan includes the creation of recreational areas at several locations, with old railway carriages being transformed into libraries and cafés to encourage community participation.
With an estimated budget exceeding Rs. 2.35 billion, the project will span around 700 kanals. The Punjab Housing Department has stated that the corridor is expected to be completed within a year. This initiative is part of a larger strategy to improve Lahore’s environment and public health.

And how much of that, 2.35 billion is it? will be lining the pockets of our so called esteemed participants (from the very bottom all the way to the top) of said project. Maybe 2.3 or if someone’s feeling extra generous maybe 2B. If that’s really the correct amount that was withdrawn from the tax/mob fund.
Any green initiative is good, excellent. Just keep a check that no money is wasted or robbed.
Why don’t they think about the ring road? Just a brief planning converts ring road in a green ring road and that really helps to reduce pollution in the city
Maximum roads and streets of Lahore are broken and required maintainance. Plz reduce the issues of public, then get the luxurious projects start. Plz don’t waste the public revenue to gain other edges.

There is need to plant local trees fruit trees rather imported plants . Local plants / trees suits our weather and their wood is used for doors,furniture etc.
