Work Started on Major Road Project in Rawalpindi

Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi laid the foundation stone on Thursday for the construction of Ratta Road, a much-anticipated development project in the city.

The National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) will supervise the project, while the Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation will handle implementation. The project includes road construction as well as drain rehabilitation, with completion expected in approximately one and a half months.

Local residents and business owners expressed their support for the initiative, noting that improved infrastructure had been a long-standing demand of the community.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Abbasi emphasized the government’s responsibility to serve the public. “We are committed to improving roads and streets across the city,” he said, adding that progress depends on continued cooperation from citizens.

“These development projects are part of our mission to serve the people. The PML-N believes in practical action, not just promises,” he remarked.

  • Internal city main roads have become depleted due to very poor materials used in their construction.Main High Court Road from Chaklala Scheme 111 down towards Swan Bridge near High Court was constructed two to three years back with millions of ruppes spent on it. But within a short period it has started putting at many places and further gas pipe line lying has destroyed its one side completely and rest on both days despite shopkeepers have encroached on the foot paths leaving restricted movement for vehicles. RDA to look into it asp.

    • Ejaz Sb good message enough for their awareness but govt has sleeping completely. Really same road has completely damaged due to using rough material and lying of gas pipe lines.

    • I fully support your statement. The entire stretch from Car Chowk to Bostan Khan Road, especially around Meezan Bank and Shell Petrol Pump, is heavily congested with vehicles. Although underpasses are being constructed across the city, businesses in this area are suffering badly.

Due to the poor condition of the roads, customers are avoiding this route, which is severely impacting local businesses. The road outside Jan Shadi Hall is completely damaged. I sincerely request the concerned authorities to repair this road as soon as possible to provide relief to both the public and business owners.

  • These monsters just move on main roads the range road from Abid majeed road to bhatta chowk is ruined they showcased such a large banner that some motorway is building but they just made 2 patches on ranges road and now they are daily filled with rain water for god sake dont tell any authority to go and check the road condition over their please and the RDA is just now for removing tents of societies in any ceremony they are just blah blah.

  • Hanif abbassi SB it will be in your memories that liaquat bagh was the only place in the centre and old city of Rawalpindi to go for a walk and to refresh in morning. First attempt on the rights and assets of Rawalpindi was made by Mr Zulfiqarq Ali Bhutto who constructed Liaquat Memorial Hall in the centre of the Garden .Keep in mind that there is no alternate of a tree and garden.there after a office of 15 Police post was made in the same garden. Instead of protecting the rights of citizens .City Government constructed two buildings in the name of their offices in the same Garden. All of the above a dumping site was established in the garden by the Rawalpindi Waste Management company. In the centre of the citya new Mahmood Booti is in the process of making polluting the city water and atmosphere. Resident of the surrounding can’t breath when after rainy season dumpers take away this waste and draining filthy water on the road from liaquat bagh to Rawat. Please take notice of this and abolish this facity and restore the old liaquat bagh

  • Mohtaram Hanif Abbassi sahib is a man with lots of energy and initiative. His work on Pindi Metro and RIC is ample proof. But he will have better results if he focuses on works and improvements in ministry of Railways which is his Prime and Only responsibility. There is lot to do there…

  • City projects are necessary but of utmost urgency should be accorded to our rural uplift projects, inter-villages link roads, mullah bridges, schools approach roads, with halls for villagers to gather for ceremonial events. We have enough city shines. Rural communications need constructive attention.

  • I request the respected authority to please look into the condition of main road and Bi Lanes of Lane 3 , Gulistan Colony opposite Ayub National Park.
    Thanking you in anticipation
    Taha (resident of Lane 3)
