The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has rejected social media claims that the fee for the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025 has been raised by 80 percent.
In a statement, PMDC clarified that the fee has only increased from Rs. 8,000 in 2024 to Rs. 9,000 this year — a 12.5 percent rise. The Council said the revision was made at the request of universities conducting the test, citing higher costs for paper printing, security measures, logistics, and payments to exam staff.
MDCAT 2025 will be held on October 5 through designated universities across the provinces, with a uniform syllabus prepared by PMDC in consultation with stakeholders. Registration began on August 8 and will close on August 25, with a late fee option available until September 1.
The test will be paper-based, comprising 180 multiple-choice questions in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Logical Reasoning. The syllabus is available at the PMDC website, and applications must be submitted online here.
