The Punjab government has approved the construction of the ‘Canal Ship Restaurant’ despite strong objections from the provincial finance department and the Planning & Development (P&D) Board, which had deemed the venture an unnecessary expense, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday.
Official documents reveal that the revised project cost has surged to Rs540 million from the earlier estimate of Rs350 million, following design changes and a review by NESPAK.
The finance department had opposed the scheme, arguing that an expenditure of Rs 4 million per seat on the floating restaurant was excessive. It also objected to the inclusion of a Rs50 million bridge and a ‘selfie point’ costing over Rs10 million.
According to the documents, the supplementary grant for the project will be allocated to the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), while the P&D Board will arrange the required funding.

lmao…we have the best clowns.
Ohho 😔
Instead of a restaurant on canal, widen the canal or build parallel canal for up and down stream Fairy Service as mass transportation on canal, that will not only a Go green project but also a water reservoir and jobs to many as boat operators and then also a restaurant as propose.
Priority should be for masses, environment friendly approach and beautification of the city.
Totally unnecessary. Cosmetic. Poor don’t have basic necessities. Spend money/ time on development of infrastructure. Improve education, health care, law and order, working of judiciary both lower courts( civil/criminal) etc.
Spend money on improving education and law and order seriously these 2 aspect are improved because of society and planing not because of money and law and order are also depends on equality and corruption
Good idea.Go ahead.
Nobody will know who has thrown waste materials in canal whether it is public people or end of the day it’s staff and bad smell will become status.
In summer all swimmers will be around the restaurant jumping.
