Aga Khan University Celebrates National Spirit and Honours Faculty’s Service to Pakistan

On Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, Aga Khan University (AKU) celebrated the nation’s spirit and paid tribute to its dedicated faculty and staff who have contributed significantly to Pakistan’s progress.

Under the guidance of its Chancellors, AKU has upheld its mission to serve the country since its founding. In 1991, just eight years after its establishment, the University community received its first recognition from the Government of Pakistan. By 2024, its faculty and staff had earned 31 prestigious civil awards for their exceptional service.

The AKU community has pioneered solutions to address malnutrition and stunting, advanced health care and education, and contributed to social development. From responding to earthquakes and floods to combating pandemics, the University has consistently supported the people of Pakistan.

AKU expressed pride in these achievements and reaffirmed its commitment to building a stronger and brighter future for the nation.
