Applications have been invited for the allotment of flats to industrial workers, with special quotas reserved for widows and disabled workers at the orders of the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
According to the plan, 3% of the flats will be allocated to widows of deceased workers, while 2% will be reserved for disabled workers.
In Phase-I, applications are being accepted from industrial workers of Lahore and Kasur districts. The process has begun at the Workers Welfare Complex, Sundar Industrial Estate, Kasur, where 750 flats will be provided free of cost to workers.
The Chief Minister announced that industrial workers can now download application forms from home through the official websites. Forms are also available free of charge at the offices of the Director Labour Welfare (North) and the Deputy Director Labour Welfare (South), Kasur. The last date for submission of applications is September 8.
To ensure fair distribution, two-thirds of the flats have been allocated for workers in Kasur, while one-third will go to workers from Lahore.
