The Punjab Environment Department has begun taking strict action against vehicles operating without green stickers, following the expiry of the August 31 deadline.
Department spokesperson Sajid Bashir said that in the initial phase, warning slips are being issued to owners of 2010–2015 model vehicles, along with e-challans sent by post. He added that repeated violations will lead to fines and legal proceedings.
According to the Punjab Environment Agency, emission checks of petrol and diesel vehicles are currently underway in urban areas. So far, around 350,000 vehicles have been issued green stickers. Only vehicles that successfully pass the emission test are eligible for the sticker.
Bashir explained that the inspection includes checks on the engine, silencer, and catalytic converter. He warned that during the smog season, vehicles without a green sticker will not be allowed to enter or operate in Lahore.
He further noted that the fee for obtaining the green sticker will be announced soon.

green money making scheme.
Wil we have to once again go for the emission testing? I think main culprit are the motor cycles, rickshaw and vehicles which are used for loading and unloading.
All these are excuses to earn money and rob the public. By the end of July, many of their emission points had disappeared, which was done deliberately. The real culprits are trucks, old buses, brick kilns and smoke-emitting factories. But now the formula is that the public should earn money and such institutions should eat it ۔
From the last so many years, loaders and
Quinchi rickshaws are commuting on the roads, without number plates and driven
by non license drivers.
Laws should be standard across country, not wishlist and bound to fail implementation of emmisdion tests. Punjab govt should not be over ambitious, does country have euro 5 spec fuel that modern vehicles require, emissions results will then be correct.. Further rules cannot be selective, madam CM should better have consultancy across Punjab and aligned with GoP for uniform policies
Went for getting green sticker on the Route 47 EPA point but there was nobody there despite it was 40 minutes later than the 10 am start that they make to check and certify vehicles, my trip there was today about 40 minutes back
This was left by Punjab govt to loot public.
Lahore cantt mey ye stickers ya car testing kha per ho rahy hy ?
An extension of two months for obtaining green stickers should be given in wake of torrential rains and flood in punjab.
I don’t understand what they want to accomplish, major contributors are carburettor based vehicles trucks, 3 and 2wheelers, buses etc but no one in the world knows what will green stickers on cars will change?
except for pso . all other companies such as attock oil use euro 2 which cloaks cataylic convertor . first pakistan needs to strictly only sell euro 6 fuel
It is a scam from Punjab government mostly testing center is closed from last 1 half month.i visit Gulberg, CBD , LOS and also near Raya DHA all is closed.
Sarkari bhata
Total vehicles registered in Lahore are over 7.6 Million. A rough estimate is that cars are around 2.5 Million.
Calculate the time required for present number of inspection booths to inspect all vehicles….its over 2 years
