JMEV Elight Launched in Pakistan with 500KM Range

Capital Smart Motors (CSM) has officially introduced the JMEV Elight, marking the entry of yet another electric vehicle brand into Pakistan’s growing EV market. CSM, known for launching brands like Riddara, Geely, and Forthing, now enters the electric sedan segment with the Elight.

Variants and Pricing

The Elight is available in two trims:

  • Comfort – Rs. 8,499,999
  • Premium – Rs. 9,999,999

Bookings require a 10% advance payment, and delivery is expected within 90 days. The Premium variant includes additional tech and comfort features over the standard trim.

Performance and Range

The JMEV Elight is powered by a 56.3 kWh battery and a 165 kW (221 HP) motor, offering an NEDC-rated range of 500 kilometers. The vehicle supports three driving modes—Eco, Normal, and Sport—allowing users to adjust performance according to their preferences.

Interior and Features

Inside the cabin, the Elight features a 14.6-inch multimedia touchscreen, premium interior finishing, and advanced safety systems, including multiple airbags, blind-spot monitoring, and a 360-degree camera system.

Charging Capabilities

The vehicle supports both AC and DC charging:

Charger Type Charging Time
7 kW AC Charger 0–100% in 10 hours
DC Fast Charger 30–80% in 30 minutes

This ensures flexibility for both home and on-the-go charging.

Market Strategy

With the Elight sedan, Capital Smart Motors has now established a presence across all major EV segments. The company already offers the Forthing Friday in the crossover category and the Riddara RD6 for pickup truck buyers. The Elight complements the lineup by offering a sedan targeted at urban users seeking performance and extended range.

  • Fast becoming dumping ground of failed EVs…. at exorbitant cost !
Millions of unsold EVs are parked in open grounds, in China. Even frequent price reductions failed to elevate the market

  • 25 to 30 lac ki milti hai toh theek hai. Otherwise people can buy city or alsvin over this depreciating trash.

  • Why EV in Pakistan, where electricity is the costliest in the world? Let us keep importing ICE used cars, which are now continuously going cheaper due to the EV craze around the world. We will soon have our own oil from the off shore and dirt cheap, making the EV drive, a big failure.

  • I guess the best strategy to successfully launch EV in Pakistan would be to get small cars costing $6000 – $8000 in China and bring them to Pakistan with zero custom duty or maximum 5% duty to cater to masses and bring a change in the country. But it is close to impossible as the three gundas not only controlling the car maker the assemblies and govt. Will never let you.

  • the EV motor vehicle will not be successful as we do not have stable electricity. loadsedfing is very common issue and even if anyone has a solar system installed at home which is connected to national grid, the electricity current has too much fluctuation, hence, unstable, which is harmful for the EV vehicles. I hope it is understood by what I mean.
