NADRA Launches Fast-Track CNIC Drive in Flood-Hit Swat and Buner

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a special fast-track registration drive in flood-affected areas of Swat and Buner, aimed at ensuring quick access to identity services and government relief programs.

In partnership with the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), NADRA has dispatched mobile registration vans to provide Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) on the spot and to process urgent registrations for families seeking relief assistance.

Registration teams have been working in several flood-hit localities, including Lundikass and Babuzai in Swat, as well as multiple areas in Buner, enabling displaced residents to obtain CNICs necessary for accessing government aid and social protection schemes.

The initiative comes in the wake of recent monsoon floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which displaced hundreds of families, submerged villages, and destroyed essential infrastructure. Alongside NADRA’s intervention, humanitarian organizations such as OneUmmah and Penny Appeal are distributing food supplies, clean drinking water, and hygiene kits to affected households.

In a separate announcement, NADRA confirmed a revision of fees for the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), applicable to citizens living in Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. The NICOP, also available to the family members of overseas Pakistanis, serves as a vital identity document, ensuring recognition of Pakistani nationality while offering access to various services and benefits.
