Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari announced on Thursday that the provincial government has fixed new prices for flour and roti, warning that any attempt to raise rates will not be tolerated.
In her statement, the minister said a 10-kilogram flour bag will now be available at Rs. 905, while the 20-kilogram bag has been priced at Rs. 1810. The price of roti has been set at Rs. 14.
She stressed that no shopkeeper or supplier would be allowed to exploit the situation by increasing prices under the pretext of floods or other factors.
Bokhari added that the government is committed to keeping essential commodities affordable and is taking strict measures to provide relief to the public. “We will not allow anyone to burden citizens by charging beyond the fixed prices,” she said.
She confirmed that an official notification has been issued regarding the new prices, and the updated rates have been circulated among the public and the media. The minister said the administration has been directed to ensure full compliance with the notified rates and warned of action against violators.
