In a move that will change the landscape of professional wrestling, Saudi Arabia has reportedly been confirmed as the host of WrestleMania 43 in 2027, marking the first time WWE’s biggest annual spectacle will be staged outside North America.
The news broke when Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, revealed through a social media post that the Kingdom had secured the event. While WWE has yet to issue an official announcement, multiple U.S. outlets have verified the development.
Reports suggest that Saudi Arabia has agreed to pay around $100 million as a site fee for WrestleMania, the largest in WWE history, dwarfing any previous hosting deal. Alongside WrestleMania, other major WWE shows, including Raw and SmackDown, are expected to be part of the 2027 festivities.
The final venue has not yet been named, though an official statement from WWE is anticipated soon.
This landmark decision comes as part of WWE’s global expansion drive. In recent years, the company has staged major events in Puerto Rico, France, Germany, Australia, and the United Kingdom, but WrestleMania itself has always remained within the United States or Canada. Saudi Arabia’s successful bid signals a new chapter in the sport’s international growth.
The Kingdom has shown particular interest in hosting WWE and has put on premium live events since 2018, investing an estimated $50 million per event. They are also reportedly planning to host the Royal Rumble in 2026.
While London had long been lobbying to host a WrestleMania at Wembley Stadium, Saudi Arabia’s record-breaking offer appears to have ended that push, further proof of the Kingdom’s growing influence in global sports and entertainment.
The match card, including the highly anticipated main event, is expected to be unveiled in the coming months, building towards a show that will be remembered as a pivotal moment in the history of professional wrestling.
