The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced plans to set up 13 new offices and mega centres in Sindh to improve public access to identity registration and documentation services, ARY News reported.
The initiative was finalized during a high-level meeting between Sindh Chief Secretary Dr. Asif Haider Shah and a NADRA delegation. The discussion also covered digital property transfers and land record management as part of the province’s broader digital governance goals.
Dr. Asif Haider Shah emphasized that Sindh is moving towards online property transfer systems, highlighting the government’s commitment to modernization. Both the provincial administration and NADRA agreed to strengthen collaboration on digital transformation, particularly to benefit rural communities.
As part of the expansion, NADRA counters will be set up in all union councils of Karachi, confirmed by Mayor Murtaza Wahab during the inauguration of an upgraded registration centre at Babar Market, Landhi.
New mega centres are also being developed in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulberg, and Surjani Town, offering modern facilities such as wheelchair access, increased seating, and enhanced service counters.
In addition, passport processing counters have been established at NADRA mega centres in Nazimabad and SITE, while new passport offices have opened in Karachi’s Central and Western districts. These measures are part of a wider initiative by the Ministry of Interior to streamline passport and registration services.
Separately, NADRA has rolled out Pak ID Mobile App Version 5.0.0, offering improved features for citizens. The updated app comes with an upgraded dashboard, faster CNIC cancellation process, better search options, and bilingual support in Urdu and English to make it more user-friendly, particularly for rural populations.
