The Pakistani rupee continued its upward momentum against the US dollar on Tuesday, marking its 33rd consecutive gain in the interbank market.
At the close, the local currency settled at Rs. 281.42, appreciating by Rs. 0.03 against the greenback. A day earlier, the rupee had ended at Rs. 281.45.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan, the dollar was quoted in the open market at Rs. 282.25 for buying and Rs. 282.45 for selling.
The State Bank of Pakistan reported that the euro rose by Rs. 1 to close at Rs. 331.71, compared with the previous day’s Rs. 330.71. The Japanese yen remained unchanged at Rs. 1.90. The British pound gained Rs. 1.05 to settle at Rs. 380.48, up from Rs. 379.43 on Monday.
