The Divisional Development Working Committee on Tuesday approved 15 development schemes aimed at improving water supply and sewerage systems across the Lahore Division. The meeting, chaired by Commissioner Lahore Division Maryam Khan, reviewed the schemes in detail before granting approval.
The approved projects include eight schemes under the Lahore Development Programme, six under the Annual Development Programme (ADP), and one public health engineering scheme for Lahore Cantonment and Walton Board by the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa).
Officials stressed that all projects must be completed within the current financial year, in line with quality standards and established timelines. The meeting was attended by Director Development Javed Rashid Chohan, Wasa MD Ghufran Ahmed, Assistant Director Hafiz M. Iqbal, and other development officers.
Meanwhile, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Vice Chairman Mian Marghub Ahmed, along with LDA DG Tahir Farooq, reviewed ongoing and proposed projects at the TEPA office. Briefings were given on the Neela Gumbad Parking Plaza, Nasser Bagh, Old Tollinton Market Parking Plaza, and remodeling projects from Istanbul Chowk to Data Darbar.
Separately, CM Punjab’s Surveillance and Monitoring Directorate Chairman Brig (R) Babar Alauddin visited LDA headquarters and emphasized transparency, e-governance, and addressing issues of overseas Pakistanis.
