Met Dept. Forecasts Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Across Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rainfall in various parts of the country, including Islamabad, during the coming days.

According to the PMD, most areas of Pakistan will experience hot and dry weather. However, rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Potohar region, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir, where partly cloudy conditions are likely to prevail.

In Islamabad, light rain is expected in some areas, while Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Murree, and Galliyat are also likely to receive showers.

Other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Kohat, Charsadda, Dir, Chitral, Swat, Malakand, Bajaur, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Mohmand, Nowshera, Mardan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Karak, and Waziristan, are also forecast to receive rainfall.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy conditions are expected along the coastal areas of Sindh and Balochistan. Gilgit-Baltistan is likely to see scattered showers with thunder, while Azad Kashmir may experience rainfall with gusty winds and lightning at a few spots.

The PMD added that flood-affected districts of Sindh and Punjab will remain mainly hot and dry throughout the week.

During the past 24 hours, most regions of the country witnessed hot and dry weather.
