Rahim Yar Khan Deputy Commissioner Khurram Pervaiz has declared Wednesday, October 1, 2025, as a local holiday across the district in connection with the Urs of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Fareed (R.A.).
According to the official notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s office, the holiday will be observed within the revenue limits of Rahim Yar Khan district.
However, the order will not affect the examination schedules of schools, boards, universities, and financial institutions, which will continue as planned.
The notification has been forwarded to the Additional Chief Secretary Punjab, the Secretary (Home) Punjab, the Commissioner of Bahawalpur Division, the District and Session Judge Rahim Yar Khan, the District Police Officer Rahim Yar Khan, and all relevant heads of departments for necessary action.
The Urs of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Fareed (R.A.), a renowned Sufi poet and saint of the subcontinent, is marked annually with religious gatherings, tributes, and cultural activities, attracting devotees from across the region.
