Punjab Fines 29,000 Citizens for One Traffic Violation This Month

Traffic police have intensified action against one-way violations to prevent road accidents, issuing 29,704 challan tickets this month, compared to 15,000 last month — an increase of nearly 98 percent.

According to Lahore Traffic Police, more than 10,000 challans were issued in Lahore alone during the campaign. Officials said strict action is being taken against violators, with fines of Rs. 2,000 imposed for driving the wrong way.

Deputy Inspector General of Traffic Punjab, Muhammad Waqas Nazir, directed all Chief Traffic Officers (CTOs) and District Traffic Officers (DTOs) to take special measures and ensure teams remain active in the field.

He emphasized that zero tolerance will be shown toward those breaking one-way rules, which are a major cause of accidents. The police urged citizens to follow traffic rules for their own safety and to avoid heavy fines.

  • Yesterday I travelled on GT road found Highway police at 2- 3 place parking their car on road shoulder blinking lights ( to which criminal attitude drivers give a damn) police is very busy with their personal what app etc and drivers with dangerously high lights crossing them, vehicles and bikes including trucks chingchi coming against one way on their face and police is so cool they did not bother to have a look even, second issue is restrict the bikers in their lane especially high ways the are going in fast lane with full load and whole family but our police is busy educating a crowd not a nation, time has come for police bosses to stop statistics and education ans start dealing with this crowd with iorn hand and very strict punishments as they are not willing to correct themselves and damage vehicles of other law abiding people.

  • After 10 or 12pm nation did not required the safty messures like helmet.. side mirrors has to be more important with helmets. Helmet kills the reflexes. And people got accidents due to this negligency.
