The historic Kamran Ki Baradari in Lahore is set to undergo restoration and beautification following fresh directives from the provincial housing department. The centuries-old Mughal monument, situated on the banks of the River Ravi, will soon be revived as a cultural landmark with enhanced facilities for visitors.
During a recent site visit, Secretary of Housing Noor-ul-Amin Mengal inspected the location, where PHA Director General Mansoor Ahmad presented details of the restoration and upkeep plan.
According to the new plan, the area surrounding the Baradari will feature restaurants, picnic spots, and landscaped gardens to improve the visitor experience. A dedicated access road will also be constructed to make the monument more easily accessible.
To attract tourists, boat rides to the site will be introduced, while a heritage museum will be established to showcase the Mughal history and cultural importance of the monument.
PHA’s Mansoor Ahmad noted that the long-neglected structure will soon regain its lost grandeur, adding that conservation efforts for heritage sites across Lahore have been fast-tracked.
The DG PHA has been directed to ensure the timely completion of the project in collaboration with all concerned departments.
