Punjab Police Gives Rs. 3.5 Million for Treatment of Kids of Serving and Retired Officers

The Punjab Police has disbursed Rs. 3.584 million to fund medical treatment for the seriously ill children of serving and retired personnel.

Key recipients include ASI Azam Ali, who received Rs1.66 million for his daughter’s cochlear implant, and Naib Qasid Muhammad Zafar, granted Rs500,000 for his son’s blood cancer treatment. DSP Muhammad Awais Qarni was allocated Rs300,000 for his daughter’s lung condition.

Additional support was provided to Traffic Warden Shahid Mehmood and Constable Waqas Ahmed, each receiving Rs250,000. At the same time, a collective Rs250,000 was distributed to Sub-Inspector Tasawar Hussain, Constable Amjad Raza, and the widow of martyred Constable Muhammad Niaz. Several other officers were granted smaller amounts for their children’s care.

The welfare initiative, overseen by IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, is part of a broader push to assist police families facing critical health expenses. Applications are vetted by the department’s Medical Financial Assistance Committee before approval.
