Punjab Announces New Rule for Traffic Police Officials and Suthra Punjab Workers

The Punjab government has made it mandatory for traffic police personnel and Sanitation Department teams to wear face masks while on duty to protect them from air pollution and smog exposure.

According to an official notification issued on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, all traffic wardens stationed amid vehicle emissions and members of the Suthra Punjab teams are required to wear masks during working hours.

The order further instructs senior officials to ensure strict compliance with the safety SOPs and monitor field staff regularly to maintain consistency in mask usage.

Officials added that all employees working under the Suthra Punjab Programme must also follow the same precautionary guidelines while performing their duties.

The directive emphasized that proper monitoring and enforcement of mask compliance will help protect frontline workers from respiratory illnesses and other health risks caused by environmental pollution.
