The University of Karachi has released the results of its admission test, revealing a success rate of only 39 percent. Out of 7,226 candidates, just 2,828 managed to pass the exam.
According to the university’s data, the majority of successful candidates scored between 50 and 60 marks, totaling 1,735 students. Meanwhile, 29.3 percent of the passing students achieved scores ranging from 60 to 70.
Only 263 candidates secured 70 marks or higher, while just 20 students scored between 80 and 90 marks. No one managed to score above 90, bringing the percentage of those above 80 marks down to a mere 0.28 percent.
The admission test covered 20 disciplines, including Pharmacy, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Business Studies.
In other news, the University of Karachi inaugurated the Centre of Digital Forensic Science and Technology (CDFST), Sindh’s first university-based digital forensic facility. Funded by the federal government through the HEC, the Rs308 million centre spans 38,000 square feet and features modern classrooms, labs, and offices.
It aims to advance research, training, and cybersecurity while preparing future digital forensic experts. Although construction is complete, academic operations will begin within a few months.
