The Punjab School Education Department has officially denied issuing a notification that has gone viral on social media, claiming that all schools, colleges, and universities across the province would remain closed on Saturdays.
According to the viral document, dated October 28, 2025, students were to be given a weekly holiday every Saturday, while teachers and administrative staff would receive alternate Saturdays off.
The notification quickly spread across social media platforms, creating confusion among parents, teachers, and students.
In its response, the School Education Department stated that no such notification was issued by the department. Officials clarified that the document circulating online is fake and should be disregarded.
The department has also urged the public to verify any such information through official government sources before sharing it further.
