Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) in Peshawar has suspended free treatment under the Sehat Card program, leaving patients facing serious difficulties.
According to a statement from the hospital administration, the suspension is due to non-payment of funds for the Sehat Card scheme. The government has not provided funds to the insurance company responsible for the program.
Hospital officials said the insurance firm has not paid the hospital’s outstanding dues, which amount to millions of rupees. As a result, KTH is now facing financial challenges and cannot continue offering free treatment under the Sehat Card.
