Iqbal Day 2025 Will be a Holiday Across Pakistan

Pakistanis, and everyone around the world, will observe Iqbal Day on November 9 this year despite no official declaration of a public holiday by the federal government or any governing body across the globe.

Iqbal Day 2025 will technically get a public holiday simply because it falls on a Sunday this year, meaning the usual work-free day doubles as the nation’s annual tribute to Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the poet-philosopher who inspired the dream of Pakistan.

While the Cabinet Division’s list of public holidays for 2025 includes Iqbal Day, no extra holiday will be granted since it overlaps with the weekend.

Born on November 9, 1877, in Sialkot, Iqbal remains one of South Asia’s most celebrated thinkers, whose message of self-realization and national unity continues to resonate. Across the country, the day is usually marked with ceremonies, poetry recitals, and educational events. However, this time though most people will likely spend their “holiday” the usual way: enjoying their Sunday off.

  • Hi sher . A message for you all on this iqbal day.

Iqbal all his life was an advocate for actual development, not make belief one.

For you and me and many like us, our leaders used to endlessly tell us how they are going to make dams on basha and kalabagh for 40 years. We even experienced rolling blackouts for over 5 years.
Then we found solar was a solution and now same leaders are crying about solar adoption being an issue.

It wasn’t our leaders that helped us, it was china and their desire to develop their solar industry for everyone that helped us.

Today that same sun is the source that makes us somewhat immune to blackouts.

We should learn from what iqbal said and not what our leaders say.
