World’s First Dual 200MP Camera Phone Might Finally Launch Globally

Vivo is expected to expand its flagship X series beyond China for the first time, as new details suggest the upcoming X300 Ultra could see a global release.

The development was spotted in the GSMA IMEI database, where a device believed to be the X300 Ultra appeared under the model number V2562. This differs from Vivo’s standard Chinese naming format, pointing to a potential international version. Until now, Ultra models in vivo’s X series have only been available in China, while international markets have received only the base and Pro variants.

First Smartphone With Dual 200MP Sensors

Leaks indicate the X300 Ultra may debut with one of the most advanced camera systems on a smartphone. It is expected to feature two 200MP rear cameras, likely using Sony’s newest image sensors. One of these would serve as the main camera, while the other would offer telephoto capabilities.

If this setup is confirmed, the X300 Ultra would be the first phone to include dual 200MP sensors, marking a significant step in mobile photography. The addition of Sony’s high-resolution modules could place vivo in direct competition with other brands focused on high-end imaging.

Previous Ultra Models Were China-Exclusive

Earlier Ultra models, like the X90 Ultra and X100 Ultra, were only released in China. This limited international customers to the standard and Pro variants, which typically lacked the Ultra’s enhanced camera and performance features.

With rising global interest in premium camera phones, vivo’s plan to launch the Ultra worldwide would align it with competitors such as Samsung and Xiaomi, who already offer their top-tier models across multiple markets.

Vivo has not yet confirmed a launch date for the X300 Ultra or shared official specifications. However, based on the database entry and ongoing leaks, the device is expected to debut in China first, followed by a broader international rollout sometime next year.
