The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad, has arrested the prime suspect in a major scandal involving fake admissions under the foreign quota at the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). Raids are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.
Investigators say PMDC employee Saddam Hussain, along with Pir Zulfiqar, Abid Khan, and Hussain’s brother Khair Muhammad, abused their official positions. The group allegedly promised students medical college admissions under the foreign quota in exchange for large payments.
The suspects are accused of collecting over Rs40 million in cash and bank transfers. They reportedly used the names of senior PMDC officials to make their scheme appear legitimate.
After a thorough inquiry, the FIA registered a case against all four suspects. They face charges of misuse of authority, fraud, cheating, corruption, and abetment under Sections 109, 409, 420, and 161 of the Pakistan Penal Code, as well as relevant sections of the Anti-Corruption Act.
