The Punjab Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Department has officially launched the mobile app for “Assistive Devices & Wheelchair (ADWC)”, in line with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s Digital Punjab Vision. The platform aims to provide easier access to assistive equipment for persons with disabilities across the province.
Through this app, citizens with disabilities can now apply online from home for various assistive devices, including manual and motorised wheelchairs, paediatric chairs, prosthetic limbs, hearing aids, and mobility supports. Once approved, these items will be delivered directly to the applicant’s doorstep, ensuring convenience and inclusivity.
To apply through the Assistive Devices & Wheelchair (ADWC) program:
According to official data available on the ADWC portal, the initiative has already received over 38,600 applications, with more than 11,200 approved and nearly 7,000 assistive devices delivered across 36 districts of Punjab.
Provincial officials stated that this digital system will not only empower persons with disabilities but also make the application process more transparent and efficient. The department has instructed all field officers to install the app, register eligible applicants, and launch awareness campaigns across Punjab to ensure maximum participation.
