Pakistan Railways Temporarily Suspends Winter Schedule

Pakistan Railways has temporarily suspended its winter schedule and decided to operate trains according to the summer timetable due to ongoing engineering restrictions and signal system issues that have been causing frequent delays.

According to officials, for the first time in history, train operations during the winter season will follow the summer schedule. The previous timetable, which was originally in effect from April 15 to October 14, 2025, has now been reinstated from November 10, 2025.

Sources said that many trains were already facing long delays, prompting the decision to switch back to the summer timings. Ongoing engineering works on several sections of the railway track have extended travel time between Lahore and Karachi by more than four hours, with some trains now taking up to 24 hours to complete the journey.

A Pakistan Railways spokesperson described the change as a temporary measure, assuring that regular schedules would be restored once improvements in track maintenance and signaling systems are completed.

Passengers have been advised to confirm updated train timings before their journey to avoid inconvenience.
