Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi chaired a high-level meeting to finalize the roadmap for establishing an E-Courts system across the country. The initiative marks a significant step toward the digital transformation of Pakistan’s judiciary.
The meeting was attended by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Haroon Rashid, Barrister Ali Zafar, and senior officials from various institutions.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Justice Afridi emphasized that the judiciary’s digital transformation is a reform process driven by public interest, aimed at making the judicial system more transparent, efficient, and accessible.
He stated that enhancing transparency and performance remains the core objective of judicial reforms. The Chief Justice directed that all stakeholders be involved to ensure the successful implementation of the new digital system.
Chief Justice Afridi instructed the Federal Judicial Academy to accelerate consultations with relevant institutions and experts. He stressed the importance of collaboration in ensuring that the E-Courts initiative is executed effectively and within the set timeline.
The Chief Justice also announced that all courts across Pakistan will transition to solar energy by August 2026. Alongside this, projects to establish E-libraries, women facilitation centers, and clean water facilities will also be completed.
He added that these reforms will make the judicial system faster, more modern, and aligned with public needs, ensuring quick and transparent delivery of justice.
The introduction of E-Courts is expected to revolutionize Pakistan’s judicial structure, reducing delays and enhancing accessibility for citizens nationwide. The initiative reflects the judiciary’s commitment to modernization, sustainability, and public service.
