Asus Begins Android 16 Rollout With Major Fixes and New Features

Asus introduced the Android 16 beta program for the Zenfone 12 Ultra in August, and after nearly three months of testing, the company has begun releasing the stable build.

The update is rolling out not only to the Zenfone 12 Ultra but also to the ROG Phone 9.

The new software carries version 36.0810.1810.43 and has a download size of more than 1GB. As with previous updates, Asus is distributing it in stages, which means some users may receive the notification immediately while others may have to wait several days or even weeks.

The update adjusts system navigation settings and adds the option to long-press the power button to activate the digital assistant. It also introduces a skip-countdown button in the screen recording tool.

A previous issue that caused Bluetooth headsets to lose audio during calls has been fixed.

For ROG Phone 9 users, the update also refreshes a wide range of game profiles, along with AirTrigger and Macro profiles. Asus warns that some third-party apps may not be fully compatible with Android 16 at this stage.
