Huawei Confirms Mate 80 Series Launch for November 25

Huawei has ended months of speculation by officially announcing the launch date for its new Mate 80 series. The company will introduce the lineup at a major product event scheduled for November 25 at 2:30 PM in China. The event will also include the debut of Huawei’s next foldable device, the Mate X7.

First Teaser and Expected Designs

The first teaser released for the launch keeps the design details concealed, but it does feature two prominent circular shapes. These appear to hint at a round camera module on the Mate 80 series and possibly a magnetic ring built into the back cover.

Reports from China suggest that Huawei is preparing four models for this year’s release: the Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro Max, which will take the place of the previous Pro+ variant, and the Mate 80 RS Master Edition. The Pro Max seems more like a name change than a structural redesign, but the entire lineup is expected to carry significant upgrades.

One of the most notable changes is the inclusion of 3D face recognition across all models, a feature that was previously limited to the most premium versions. The phones are also said to adopt a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a redesigned camera island in a new red maple color.

Rumors further indicate that Huawei may introduce an option with 20GB of RAM, making it one of the highest-memory configurations in a mainstream flagship. All models are expected to run on the Kirin 9030 chipset, a successor to the Kirin 9020. The company is also reportedly experimenting with an internal active cooling fan, a feature not commonly found in high-end smartphones.

Mate X7 Foldable to Launch Alongside

Huawei will also unveil the Mate X7 at the same event. This generation is reported to come with a larger 7.95-inch foldable 2K display featuring ultra-thin UTG glass. It is expected to offer a larger battery, upgraded cameras, and a slimmer, lighter design. The Mate X7 will also run the Kirin 9030 chip and arrive in new color options such as Obsidian Black, Phantom Purple, Cosmic Red, Cloud Blue, and Cloud White.

Although many of these details come from leaks and early reports, the official launch is now only days away. Huawei is expected to confirm full specifications and final designs at the event.
