The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has finalized a major road rehabilitation project in District Malir, marking a key step toward improving mobility and reducing travel time for thousands of commuters.
The tender for the upgrade of the corridor from Gulshan-e-Hadeed to Allah Wali Chowrangi has now been officially issued, signaling the start of the execution phase.
The project focuses on enhancing a vital arterial route that links residential areas to important commercial and industrial zones, including the Bin Qasim Industrial Zone and the roadway toward Thatta.
Officials said the upgraded corridor will support growing traffic demands in the eastern part of the city and boost connectivity for surrounding neighborhoods.
With an estimated cost of Rs. 496 million, the initiative includes full road resurfacing, drainage improvements, lane marking, and installation of long-term infrastructure to ensure durability and smoother travel. The one-year construction plan aims to deliver a safer and more efficient route once completed.
KMC noted that the upgraded road will not only ease congestion within District Malir but also strengthen transport access between Karachi’s key economic hubs, benefiting daily commuters and local industries alike.
