The Pakistan Meteorological Department has cautioned that smog and dense fog are expected to persist, and likely intensify, across the country’s plain regions in the coming days.
According to the Met Office, the ongoing dry spell is contributing to worsening visibility conditions, particularly in northeastern and southern Punjab, including Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal, Multan, Khanewal, Layyah, Kot Addu, Bahawalpur, and nearby districts.
Similar weather patterns are also predicted for parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, such as Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Dera Ismail Khan, and their surrounding areas. In upper Sindh, cities including Sukkur and Rohri are expected to experience reduced visibility as well.
The Met Office added that the smog and fog will be most intense during the early morning hours, urging residents to exercise caution while traveling.

We all know it’s smog and PMD can’t do anything bcz laws of physics don’t care about govt
correction: smog is combination of fog and smoke, and fog contains moisture. we cannot say it is made of dry dust.

Yes we can say it had dry dust bcz it does . That’s what smoke is. Moisture is extremely low in the air thanks to lack of rain and high smoke emissions by our people.
Nextly sun makes it so. If moisture was high, the dust would be brought down s moisture makes air heavy.
Physics is wonderful.
smog is harmful because to respiratory and nasal tracts infections because of pollutants but lesser issue of visibility where as Fog is not harmful because of condensation of tiny water particles but visibility is the main issue, at times zero visibility.
Smog is man created issue where as Fog is natural process due to cold weather in plains.
What we have observed in past 10 years that is the start of smog with huge intensity affecting masses that there is a gap between Smog and fog
First 20-25 days of December with no smog because of start of north western winds then comes the fog season Dec 25 to January 15th to 20th.
