Peshawar High Court Bans Political Gatherings in Govt and Educational Institutes

The Peshawar High Court has issued a five-page written order imposing a complete ban on political and all other irrelevant gatherings inside government installations, educational institutions, and official offices.

According to the judgment, no unrelated meetings or assemblies will be allowed on government premises, academic campuses, or administrative offices.

The court observed that such gatherings not only disrupt institutional performance but also undermine the sanctity of these establishments.

The court ruled that the proper use of government premises is the responsibility of the concerned officers, who must ensure that official and educational spaces are not used for political purposes or unrelated activities.

During the hearing, the petitioner’s counsel argued that holding illegal gatherings in public and educational institutions violates Article 4 of the Constitution and has been disrupting government functions and academic activities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The high court directed the administration to ensure strict measures to prevent all irrelevant gatherings within government and educational institutions.
