Global foldable smartphone shipments increased by 14% in Q3 2025, reaching a new quarterly record, according to Counterpoint Research. Samsung led the market with an estimated 64% share of all shipments during the period.
Strong sales of the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 helped the company expand its lead. Samsung’s performance represents a 32% rise in global foldable shipments compared with the same quarter last year.
Market Share Rankings
Huawei secured the second position with an estimated 15% share. Motorola followed with 7%, while Honor took fourth place with 6%. Vivo accounted for 4% and Xiaomi held 2%, completing the top six foldable brands for the quarter.
Foldables Gain Momentum
Foldable smartphones now make up 2.5% of all global smartphone shipments. Counterpoint reports that growth is driven by strong demand for book-style foldables, which continue to gain traction in several markets.
The firm expects the segment to expand further in 2026, with additional momentum likely after Apple’s anticipated entry with the long-rumored iPhone Fold.
