PSL Teams See Major Bump in Valuation

All six existing PSL franchises have received a significant valuation boost, nearly tripling their previous worth, according to well-placed sources.

In the inaugural PSL season, Quetta Gladiators, champions of the 2019 edition, were the lowest-valued team at USD 1.1 million per year for a 10-year ownership period, at an exchange rate of Rs. 105 per dollar.

Today, with the exchange rate exceeding Rs. 280, Quetta Gladiators are once again the lowest-priced franchise, now valued at roughly Rs. 360 million per year.

Other franchises have also seen substantial increases:

• Peshawar Zalmi, 2017 champions, now carry a valuation of around Rs480 million per year, up from USD 1.6 million.
• Karachi Kings, winners in 2020, are priced at Rs. 650 million per year, compared to their previous USD 2.6 million valuation.
• Lahore Qalandars, champions of 2022, 2023, and 2025, now cost Rs670 million per year, slightly higher than Karachi Kings, up from USD 2.5 million.
• Multan Sultans, who joined after the first two editions and initially had the highest valuation at USD 6.3 million, are now valued at Rs. 1.08 billion per year.

Sources noted that while PSL teams’ valuations have increased, the annual player budget remains unchanged at USD 1.4 million per team.
