The possibility of a special match between the champion teams of the International League T20 (ILT20) and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) cannot be ruled out, according to ILT20 Chief Executive David White.
Speaking during an interview in Dubai, White said cricket often presents unexpected opportunities and hinted that an exhibition contest between the winners of the two leagues could be explored in the future.
He pointed to the strong working relationship between the ILT20 management and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), calling the PSL one of the finest T20 leagues in the world.
White also expressed his admiration for Pakistani cricketers, saying he has a “special liking” for players from Pakistan and hopes to see even more of them featuring in the ILT20 in the coming seasons.
He noted that several Pakistani players are already part of the ongoing edition, including Fakhar Zaman, Hasan Nawaz, and Naseem Shah, while singling out Babar Azam, who is currently playing in the Big Bash League, as a player he is particularly fond of.
With ILT20 now in its fourth season, White said the league continues to grow in stature, attracting greater interest and a rapidly expanding fan base each year. He added that the tournament’s progress has exceeded expectations, both in terms of viewership and global recognition.
Reiterating his optimism, the ILT20 chief said that with strong ties between boards and leagues, “anything is possible in cricket,” leaving the door open for a high-profile encounter between the PSL and ILT20 champions in the future.
