The Pakistan Navy conducted a live weapon firing exercise in the North Arabian Sea to demonstrate its combat readiness and operational capability, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The live weapon firing, held on Sunday, involved a Pakistan Navy ship that successfully engaged highly maneuverable aerial targets using the FM-90(N) ER surface-to-air missile system. The exercise aimed to validate the navy’s air defense capability in a realistic operational environment.
Commander Pakistan Fleet Rear Admiral Abdul Munib observed the firing at sea aboard a Pakistan Navy Fleet unit. He praised the officers and personnel involved for their professionalism, discipline, and high level of operational competence during the exercise.
Rear Admiral Munib reaffirmed the Pakistan Navy’s commitment to ensuring the defense of the country’s maritime borders and protecting national interests at sea under all circumstances.
The Pakistan Navy regularly conducts such exercises to strengthen its war-fighting capabilities and maintain a high state of preparedness. These drills form part of ongoing efforts to adapt to evolving maritime threats and enhance operational effectiveness.
Last month, the navy also carried out a successful test of an indigenously developed ship-launched anti-ship ballistic missile. The system demonstrated the ability to engage both sea and land targets with high precision, supported by advanced guidance technology and improved maneuverability in complex operational conditions.
