ChatGPT is rolling out its own year-end recap feature, similar in concept to Spotify Wrapped. The new experience, called “Your Year with ChatGPT,” is now becoming available to eligible users in select markets, including the US.
Other English-speaking regions with access at launch include Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. We can only hope the feature also comes to Pakistan.
According to OpenAI, “Your Year with ChatGPT” is available to users on Free, Plus, and Pro plans. To qualify, users must have both “reference saved memories” and “reference chat history” enabled and must meet a minimum conversation activity threshold.
The feature is not available to Team, Enterprise, or Education account holders. OpenAI described the experience as lightweight, privacy-focused, and fully controlled by the user.
Inspired by Spotify Wrapped, the annual review presents a personalized look back at how users interacted with ChatGPT over the past year. The experience uses graphics and assigns playful “awards” based on usage patterns.
For example, users who frequently rely on ChatGPT to solve problems or work through ideas may receive a “Creative Debugger” award. The recap also generates a poem and an image showing the user’s main topics of interest throughout the year.
OpenAI emphasized that the feature is optional. While it will be promoted on the ChatGPT home screen, it will not open automatically or be forced on users. Users can also manually trigger the experience by asking ChatGPT for “Your Year with ChatGPT.”
The year-end review is available on the ChatGPT web app as well as the mobile apps for iOS and Android.
