The federal capital will observe another holiday immediately after Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas, as the Islamabad district administration has declared Friday, 26 December 2025, a local holiday within the city.
According to the public notification issued by the Office of the District Magistrate, the order has been approved by the District Magistrate, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
The announcement comes under the watch of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, and applies to all public and most private offices operating within Islamabad’s revenue jurisdiction.

The decision effectively creates a long weekend for most government offices and institutions in Islamabad following the public holiday on 25 December, observed nationwide as Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas.
The notification has been circulated to key federal and local departments, including the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, the Chief Commissioner’s Office, Inspector General of Police Islamabad, CDA, PEIRA, State Bank of Pakistan (Islamabad), and media regulators, with instructions to ensure wide public dissemination.
