The Murree district administration has imposed restrictions under Section 144 to regulate public movement during the Christmas, Quaid-i-Azam Day, and New Year holidays.
According to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi, The Mall Road and General Post Office (GPO) Chowk will remain open only to families during the specified period. The restriction will apply from December 24 to 26 and again from December 30 to January 1.
Authorities warned that violations would invite action under Section 188. Separately, the district administration has also imposed a 90-day ban on all construction activities across Murree.
Another notification stated that the ban covers the construction of houses, hotels, commercial buildings, and other infrastructure, along with mining, stone crushing, excavation, and the transportation of construction material.
The construction ban takes effect immediately and will remain in force for 90 days or until the completion of the Murree Master Plan.
Officials said the move aims to protect the natural environment and ensure public safety. The administration urged residents and visitors to cooperate with authorities during the restricted period.
