Punjab Food Authority Busts Massive Fake Milk Network

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has claimed to have dismantled the largest fake milk production network operating in the province.

In a major operation, the PFA arrested three key suspects identified as Maqsood Bhatti, Rauf Bhatti, and Dr. Khalid. The authority said the suspects were involved in the large-scale production and distribution of fake milk across Punjab.

According to officials, Maqsood Bhatti was wanted in six cases, while Rauf Bhatti was wanted in eight cases and had been on the police’s most-wanted list for a long time.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif thanked the Chief Secretary Punjab, Secretary Home, and Inspector General of Police Punjab for the successful operation.

Punjab Food Authority Director General Asim Javed stated that the accused were producing 200,000 litres of fake milk daily, which was supplied to various districts across Punjab.

He added that after being expelled from the province, the suspects attempted to set up production units in other provinces and the federal territory to continue their illegal activities.

Asim Javed said that the Punjab Food Authority shut down all units linked to the network and sealed all hideouts of Maqsood Bhatti and Rauf Bhatti across Punjab based on intelligence and surveillance.

He further stated that cases against the suspects have been registered in Faisalabad, Chakwal, Vehari, Bahawalnagar, and Rawalpindi.

The DG PFA described those involved as “food terrorists” who endangered public health and said that there would be no compromise on food safety, and such elements would be eliminated completely.
