The Islamabad Police has issued a detailed traffic diversion plan and advisory for motorists, to remain in effect from 11 am to 3 pm in connection with a special programme in the federal capital.
According to the plan, diversions will be placed on the Islamabad Expressway, Murree Road, and Club Road during the specified hours.
Commuters traveling from Rawat towards the Expressway have been directed to use the Rawalpindi–Peshawar Road as an alternate route.
Motorists heading to the Expressway from IJP Road and Srinagar Highway have been advised to utilize inner-city service roads and adjoining service lanes.
The police have urged citizens to set out for their destinations with an additional travel margin of 20 to 25 minutes to avoid delays and congestion.
The Islamabad Traffic Police said its officers will be deployed on major arteries and diversion points to guide and assist road users. For further information or assistance, commuters can contact the Traffic Helpline at 1915 or call Pukar-15.
Officials said the traffic arrangements are part of an extensive security and mobility plan drawn up for the visit of the President of the United Arab Emirates to Islamabad.
Earlier, the federal government had declared 26 December a local holiday for the Islamabad Capital Territory.

Such things happen only in Pakistan.
