Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon announced that vehicles without M-Tag will not be allowed to enter the federal capital, urging citizens to register their vehicles in advance to avoid inconvenience.
He said the restriction will come into force from January 1, 2026, after which vehicles without M-Tags will face action at city entry points and checkpoints. The deputy commissioner requested citizens to visit any of the 16 M-Tag registration centers operating across Islamabad to get their vehicles tagged.
According to the district administration, installing M-Tags on all vehicles is essential to improve security and traffic management in the city. A total of 95,369 vehicles have already been issued M-Tags, including 1,235 vehicles in the last 24 hours.
The administration further stated that the installation of M-Tag readers at Islamabad’s entry points and various checkposts is partially complete, and enforcement will begin once the system becomes fully operational.
Citizens were advised to ensure timely registration to avoid restrictions on vehicle entry into Islamabad.

This is just another step to keep the masses busy in a useless requirement so that their attention is constantly diverted away from the real issues faced by the public. What purpose does M-Tag serve to enter a capital? The authorities are bent upon torturing the citizens on one pretext or the other.
You are a typical PTI hooligan having no sense at all.
M – Tag eliminates corruption as toll tax is collected electronically, it reduces massive queues at toll places at entry exit points or major cities like Lahore. M – Tag reduces the staff expenses of National Highways and ensures they are not a burden on the national exchequer.

Those who lick trump boots are talking about m tag
Go back to your hidey hole. You’re only creating more chaos
Unfortunately this will cause problems. The government should give a really good incentive to adopt m tags to speed adoption
U think?…
Where’s the M-Tag Registration Center in PWD pr the nearest one?
We want to advocate that the bureaucracy is Unexamplarly genius and competent but unfortunately they never let waste any opportunity to prove us wrong..
Every car Has the registration number, Issued by the GOVT and it is displayed using number plate. So what is the purpose of adding another foolishness for the travelers. Why do they consider Humans as the Sample insects
He can sukadic. No one should be forced to get any tag.
The entire city was made by our money. Taxpayers money
Totally rediculous and useless order for registration of vehicles entering Islamabad. How many vehicles enter Islamabad from surrounding area including Murder, Rawalpindi, wah etc every day and what about the visitors from other towns and cities..will they park their vehicles at the entry points and foot it from thereon…whoever thought of this idea needs to have his/ her head examined… obviously no pre consideration has been given to the volume of traffic, condition of roads, facilities to check tags etc and in case of Pindi Islamabad where is the delineation of the twin cities. This order should be revoked immediately.
Correction…for murder read murree
This proves that our bureaucracy is incompetent . Instead of focusing on real issues as a DC hes is treating citizens as the British Raj used to do .
Brainless enforcement on people. This is time wastage. Traffic department is always trying that citizens may not be comfortable and they keep justifying their drama job activities. I as a citizen of Pakistan request the Prime Minister and the CM Punjab to step up for public relief in this regard. For security and vehicle scanning there is a registration plate on our vehicles which can be tracked anywhere. I think there is no need for E-tag.
