Man Severely Burned After Cigarette Flame Sets Clothes on Fire

A man was seriously injured after his clothes caught fire while he was smoking in Basti Bhatti, an area of Liaquat Pur.

According to rescue officials, a 45-year-old man identified as Iqbal was smoking when a burning flame from the cigarette suddenly fell onto his clothes. The fire spread quickly, leaving him badly burned before help could arrive.

Rescue teams reached the scene shortly after receiving the report and provided first aid to the injured man.

Due to his critical condition, he was initially shifted to Tehsil Hospital Liaqatpur and later referred to Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan for further treatment.

Rescue officials stated that approximately 30 percent of Iqbal’s body has been burned. His condition remains critical, and medical treatment is ongoing at the hospital.
