Galaxy S26 Ultra Privacy Display Revealed in One UI 8.5

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra is not expected to bring major hardware changes compared with its predecessor, but one previously rumored feature has now been confirmed. The device will include a screen privacy feature called Privacy Display, according to One UI 8.5, the software version the phone will run at launch.

Privacy Display limits screen visibility to the phone’s owner, preventing people nearby from seeing on screen content. The feature is designed for use in public spaces, including public transport.

How Privacy Display Works

Screenshots from One UI 8.5 show that Privacy Display will offer two intensity levels. The default setting restricts viewing angles, while a second option labeled “Maximum privacy protection” further narrows the visible area of the display.

The feature can also activate automatically under specific conditions. These triggers are expected to be configurable through Samsung’s Modes and Routines app. For example, users could set Privacy Display to turn on automatically when leaving home or arriving at work.

Access and Controls

Privacy Display will also be available through a Quick Settings toggle, allowing users to enable or disable the feature directly from the notification shade.

Samsung has not yet shared additional details about the feature, but its inclusion in One UI 8.5 confirms that Privacy Display will be part of the Galaxy S26 Ultra at launch.
