The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a dense fog alert for southern and central Punjab for the next three days.
According to an NDMA spokesperson, dense fog is expected in Lahore, Jhang, Multan, Khanewal and Mian Channu. Severe fog is also likely in Sahiwal, Okara, Pakpattan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Lodhran and Vehari.
The spokesperson said that fog may also develop during the night and early morning hours in upper Sindh, particularly in and around Sukkur, as well as in Islamabad.
The NDMA warned that reduced visibility due to fog could increase the risk of traffic accidents. Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of dense fog.
Drivers have been urged to strictly follow traffic rules, reduce speed and use fog lights to prevent accidents.
