Police have arrested a man who appeared in a viral video performing an objectionable act inside a car in front of female students near the main gate of the University of Karachi (UoK), ARY News reported.
The footage circulated widely online and triggered public outrage.
Officials identified the suspect as Mohiuddin Ali. Police registered a case against him at the Mobina Town Police Station.
They said he was involved in immoral activity inside his vehicle when several women at the location recorded the incident on their phones. The clip later spread across social media platforms, prompting swift action.
The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) confirmed that the video was filmed on January 1. After the footage gained traction, Karachi police launched an operation and arrested the suspect.
During questioning, Mohiuddin Ali expressed regret. He told police he was ashamed of his behavior and assured authorities that he would not repeat such actions.
