Samsung has introduced its Galaxy Book6 laptop lineup at CES, bringing Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 3 processors to its notebooks. These chips are the first to be built on Intel’s 18A process, a 1.8nm-class node. Samsung said the new processors, combined with a redesigned cooling system, allow the 2026 Galaxy Book models to run cooler and deliver impressive battery life of up to 30 hours.
Lineup and Display Options
The Galaxy Book6 series includes three models: Galaxy Book6, Galaxy Book6 Pro, and Galaxy Book6 Ultra. The Ultra is available only in a 16-inch size, while the standard and Pro models can be configured with either 14-inch or 16-inch displays.
The Galaxy Book6 Pro and Galaxy Book6 Ultra feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X touchscreens with adaptive refresh rates ranging from 30Hz to 120Hz, depending on the content. The displays use Gorilla Glass with DXC coating, which reduces reflections by up to 75 percent while improving scratch and drop resistance. They carry True Bright 1300 and True Black 0.0005 nits certifications, offering up to 500 nits brightness for SDR content and up to 1,000 nits for HDR.
The base Galaxy Book6 uses an IPS LCD panel rated at 350 nits and is also available in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes.
Performance and Hardware Configurations
The Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors used in the Galaxy Book6 Pro and Ultra feature up to 16 cores across performance and efficiency cores. Samsung says the new chips deliver up to 60 percent higher CPU performance compared to the previous generation and include a neural processing unit capable of up to 50 TOPS.
The Galaxy Book6 Ultra can be configured with Core Ultra X9, 9, X7, or 7 series processors. It includes Intel Arc graphics, which Samsung says are up to 70 percent faster than the previous generation. Buyers can also opt for dedicated Nvidia graphics, choosing between a GeForce RTX 5060 or RTX 5070 with 8GB of GDDR7 memory.
Ultra models with integrated graphics ship with 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Models with Nvidia GPUs offer 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB RAM options. Storage choices include 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB PCIe SSDs, along with an additional expansion slot.
The Galaxy Book6 Pro is available with Core Ultra X7, 7, or 5 processors and 16GB or 32GB LPDDR5X RAM. It comes with a 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB PCIe SSD, and the 16-inch version includes an extra storage slot.
The standard Galaxy Book6 uses older-generation Core Ultra 7 or 5 processors. It supports 16GB or 32GB LPDDR5X RAM and offers 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB PCIe SSD options. Both sizes include expansion slots, although the 14-inch model only supports smaller 2230 SSDs.
Battery Life and Charging
Samsung says the Galaxy Book6 Pro and Ultra models can deliver up to 30 hours of video playback, which is about five hours more than their predecessors. The Ultra also supports fast charging, reaching up to 63 percent in 30 minutes.
The Galaxy Book6 Ultra includes an 80.20Wh battery and supports 100W charging, or 140W charging on models with Nvidia GPUs. The Galaxy Book6 Pro features a 67.18Wh battery in the 14-inch model and a 78.07Wh battery in the 16-inch model, both supporting 65W USB-C charging. The standard Galaxy Book6 uses a 61.20Wh battery with 45W charging.
Design, Cooling, and Audio
Samsung redesigned the cooling system for the Pro and Ultra models. Both laptops use vapor chambers, with a larger chamber in the Ultra. Fins attached to the chambers improve cooling efficiency by 35 percent compared to the previous generation. A redesigned fan with a larger intake also improves airflow while reducing noise.
In terms of size and weight, the Galaxy Book6 Pro is the slimmest. The 14-inch Pro measures 11.6mm thick and weighs 1.24kg, while the 16-inch Pro measures 11.9mm and weighs 1.59kg. The Galaxy Book6 Ultra is 15.4mm thick and weighs 1.79kg, or 1.89kg with Nvidia graphics. The standard Galaxy Book6 measures 14.9mm and weighs 1.48kg for the 14-inch model and 1.75kg for the 16-inch version. An optional touchscreen increases the thickness to 16.8mm and the weight to 1.85kg.
The Galaxy Book6 Ultra includes a six-speaker audio system with two up-firing tweeters and four force-cancelling woofers, along with Dolby Atmos support. The 16-inch Pro uses a similar setup with two woofers, while the 14-inch Pro features a simpler two-speaker system.
Connectivity and Availability
The Galaxy Book6 Pro and Ultra include two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB-A port, HDMI 2.1 with support for up to 8K at 60Hz or 5K at 120Hz, a headphone and microphone combo jack, and an SD card reader. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
The standard Galaxy Book6 offers two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, HDMI, a headphone jack, an Ethernet port, and a microSD card slot. It supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.
Samsung said the Galaxy Book6 series will launch in select markets later this month, with pricing details to be announced at that time. Enterprise Edition models will be available in certain markets starting in April.
