After a long wait, the latest version of the AnTuTu benchmarking app is now available on iOS. Users can download AnTuTu 11 directly from the App Store, marking the first time Apple devices officially gain access to the newest release of the popular benchmark.
This should make direct performance comparisons between Apple and Android devices easier than ever.
AnTuTu is widely regarded as the most influential benchmarking platform in China. Chinese smartphone manufacturers frequently reference AnTuTu scores ahead of product launches, and some have even used side-by-side score comparisons during launch events. As a result, the benchmark holds significant weight in the Chinese smartphone market.
Unlike benchmarks that focus on a single component such as the CPU, GPU, or AI processing, AnTuTu evaluates overall device performance. It measures multiple aspects of hardware and system performance in one combined score, which is part of the reason for its widespread use and visibility.
With the iOS release now live, comparisons between iPhone and Android AnTuTu scores are expected to follow quickly. While such comparisons are not ideal due to platform differences, they are likely to happen regardless, given AnTuTu’s popularity and influence.
AnTuTu’s strong focus on the Chinese market also explains its unusual distribution model. On Android, the app is not available through the Google Play Store. Google services are not permitted in China, so users there rely on alternative app stores to install applications, including AnTuTu.
The arrival of AnTuTu 11 on iOS extends the benchmark’s reach beyond its traditional Android user base and brings Apple devices into a performance comparison framework that has long shaped smartphone marketing in China.
